Thank you for riding MUNI
So goes my first week of riding the 38 Geary line (although preferably the 38L) from Van Ness and Geary to the Transbay Terminal, which is a 2 minute walk to my office, assuming I'm getting the white Walk signal and not the hand. I'm really surprised by this place in that it seems like a big city and it seems like a little New York-ish but people are really hard pressed to walk across the street against a red light. You will not catch New Yorkers waiting for that shit, they will walk across the street in the face of far worse drivers. I guess San Francisco is still a little California in that way. If I ever get a jaywalking ticket, I'm going to laugh my ass off in the face of the cop and chide him (gently, because I don't want the nightstick/taser/worse) about the fact that this is supposed to be a city and that New York Cops would be rolling their eyes in dismay.
